The Hamilton Honey Badgers of the new Canadian Elite Basketball League announced Wednesday that Chantal Vallée has been named the first-ever head coach and General Manager of a men’s professional team.

After 14 years, five national championships and a .791 win percentage with the University of Windsor women’s basketball program, Vallée has taken her talents to the new franchise here in Hamilton.

The Montreal-native has been honoured with 22 basketball and all-sports Coach of the Year awards from numerous sports bodies, including twice being named Canadian U Sports Coach of the Year.

The new head coach and GM of the Hamilton Honey Badgers will be introduced at a press conference Thursday.
