Hamilton Health Sciences has introduced temporary self-isolation pay for its employees.
The temporary pay will be applied retroactively to Aug. 10, 2020 and will be in place until Mar. 31.
“This has been an extraordinary year, requiring us to take extraordinary actions to respond to COVID-19,” said Michele Leroux, Vice President of human resources.
“The virus continues to progress and challenge us. We are continually assessing and adjusting our response to support our workforce and provide safe patient care.”
The pay will apply to qualifying asymptomatic employees who are required to isolate as a result of a workplace or community exposure.
HHS says as of Wednesday, there are 47 staff members currently self-isolating, including ten people with COVID-19.
It will also apply to employees off work for COVID-19-related reasons who are not eligible for sick pay.
Employees who are required to self-isolate because of travel will not be eligible for this pay.
