The province is updating its colour-coded framework for imposing COVID-19 measures in light of  “alarming” new projections.

To address the spike in cases, the province is lowering thresholds for imposing stricter COVID-19 measures under the colour-coded framework.

The change means Toronto will move to the red level tomorrow, followed by Hamilton, Halton, Peel and York regions on Monday.

Niagara, Brant, Durham, Guelph and Waterloo will move into the orange level and Haldimand-Norfolk will move to yellow.

Chief medical health officer Dr. David Williams has updated guidance for those in red zones to not visit any other households and avoid non-essential trips outside the home.
