Hamilton girl, 15, struck while skateboarding dies from injuries

A 15-year-old Hamilton girl who was hit by a car while skateboarding has died from her injuries.

The teen was struck by a 2008 Honda being driven by a 21-year-old Hamilton man on Old Mohawk Rd. on April 25.

Emergency crews responded to the scene shortly before 9 p.m. and transported the girl to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the car remained on scene and tried to help the girl before paramedics arrived.

In a tweet posted Friday, Hamilton police said they are “saddened to announce” the girl’s death and their “thoughts are with her family at this time.”

Police say the investigation into the collision is complete and no charges are being laid.

This is the city’s sixth traffic fatality of 2021.
