A family from Dundas had their 1969 Chevelle stolen from them Friday morning. The family left their home on Ofield road just after 8:30 a.m. and returned around 1:00 p.m. They say that when they got home, one of the family members car that was parked in front of the garage was dragged almost 30 feet back. That is when they checked their garage, and the Chevelle was missing.

Jennifer Paul says that the vintage teal-green car was her first. Her soon-to-be husband bought it in 1985 when she was 16 and it has been in her family ever since. Paul, now 51, says her kids and their friends would come over just to go for cruises in the car. She says the Chevelle is a family treasure and that they refurbish it to ensure it is in top shape.

Hamilton police say that they are continuing to investigate the incident. They say the suspects broke in through the side door of the garage but cannot say how it was breached at this time.

Police are asking anyone who may have information on the whereabouts of the car to contact them. They say if you see the Chevelle, do not try and stop it yourself.
