A family doctor in Hamilton has had his license revoked after a disciplinary panel found the doctor sexually assaulted two patients.

A disciplinary panel found Dr. Koma Diryawish Israel had sexually assaulted two patients and repeatedly disregarded an order not to be alone with patients without a monitor present.

The Ontario Physicians and Surgeons discipline tribunal says the doctor engaged in several related forms of professional misconduct between 2017 and 2021.

According to the tribunal, the doctor repeatedly made comments of a sexual nature and physical advances on to a patient of his.

A report by the tribunal reads the doctor was arrested and charged with sexual assault, and later pleaded guilty Oct. 18, 2022, for common assault and received a suspended sentence.

The report then reads that the doctor was not to see patients without an approved monitor on July 7, 2022. The doctor had breached this undertaking 110 times between Aug. 2022 and April 2024.

The doctor’s certificate of registration was suspended by the inquiries, complaints and reports committee May 1, 2024.
