Matt Hayes spoke with the executive director of the Catholic Youth Organization John Spatazzo at the occasion of their CYO dinner. John has been with the CYO for over 25 years. This is the 29th edition of the CYO Children’s fundraiser.

Dante is the name of this years honourary camper.

Local golfer Mackenzie Hughes from Dundas was named the winner of the Golden Horseshoe Athlete of the Year. Mackenzie is currently a fully exempt player on the Web.com Tour. He qualified for the 2013 U.S. Open.

The CYO works with children, teens and their families of all faiths and provides them with athletic programs, leadership training and outdoor education.  Many of the programs focus on children who are financially disadvantaged or are living with disabilities.
