Hamilton crime rate drops

The latest data from Statistics Canada suggests Hamilton’s crime rate has dropped.

It was down 12 per cent between 2012 and 2013. That’s a bigger improvement than the national average of an eight per cent drop.

Violent crimes in Hamilton are down by 13 per cent, but Hamilton experienced a 27 per cent increase in child pornography offences, and a 24 per cent increase in sexual violence against children. Those increases are higher than the national average.
