Hamilton cop injured

Hamilton Police say a man in his 30’s is facing charges after an altercation with an officer.

Police were called to the area of John St. and Barton St. just before 11 o’clock Friday night, for “suspicious circumstances.”

Police say an officer was dealing with the situation and had to become physical with a man who was being arrested.

The officer suffered minor injuries to his hand.

Police are still investigating and are not releasing the man’s name at this point.

The incident closed a number of nearby streets for a few hours.
