Hamilton cop charged

A well-known Hamilton police Sergeant is facing six police act charges after two incidents with a family member. Helena Pereira has been charged with discreditable conduct, and failing to avoid a conflict of interest.

The incidents reportedly took place in February and March of this year. In 2006, she was arrested on charges, which were eventually dropped. The charges were read out during a first appearance police act hearing Friday.
