Hamilton City Centre sold
The Hamilton City Centre has a new owner.
A Barrie-area developer purchased has purchased the troubled building for $25 million.
It was formerly called the Eaton’s Centre until that company went out of business in Canada just before the turn of the century.
The 450-thousand square foot building has struggled with vacant space, unpaid taxes and frequent retailer turnover.
Hamilton Mayor Bob Bratina’s office confirmed the sale Wednesday.
Plans for the complex include renovations, aggressive leasing and marketing.
