Hamilton child molester Greene’s dangerous offender hearing

Convicted child abductor and molester John Adam Greene, 29, is back in a Hamilton court today for a dangerous offender hearing. He has pleaded guilty to a number of charges, including attempted murder and sexual interference.

According to the agreed statement of facts Greene brought a 7-year-old girl inside an apartment near Sanford Ave on May 17th, 2014. Once there he pushed her and hit her several times and sexually assaulted her.

The statement says Greene choked her until she went unconscious. It says he thought he killed her and doused her in bleach in an attempt to destroy of evidence.

His girlfriend came home and Greene took off.

Court has heard Greene has a lengthy criminal history of violence. The Crown says he has 65 past convictions, 30 of which involve violence.

He turned himself in to police a couple of days later and has been assessed by a forensic psychiatrist from St Joe’s.

That psychiatrist took the stand and in his report he has detailed Greene’s history of violence and his sexual history; in court he said that Greene fits the criteria for psychopathy.

The hearing is expected to last until the end of the week.
