A Hamilton chef has won big on Chopped Canada. Matt Kershaw, of Rapscallion on John Street South, beat out three other Canadian chefs for the Chopped Canada title.
For the show, Kershaw prepared a sea snail appetizer, a rabbit entree and a mandarin crepe fettuccine for dessert. He’s surprised the win, which was actually shot last summer, has brought him so much attention. Several fans have requested he put the winning dishes on the menu at Rapscallion.
Hye says he’s already spent the $10 000 prize on equipment for another of his Hamilton restaurants, The Mule.
