Hamilton Centre by-election to take place on March 16

A provincial by-election for the Hamilton Centre has been scheduled to take place on March 16.
Premier Doug Ford called the vote Wednesday to choose an MPP to replace former NDP leader Andrea Horwath – who retired last August.
The NDP’s candidate, Sarah Jama, is the executive director of the Disability Justice Network of Ontario.
Deirdre Pike, who is running for the Liberals, is a justice and outreach consultant for the Anglican Diocese of Niagara and an LGBTQ advocate.
The Progressive Conservative candidate is police officer Peter Wiesner.

Voters in Hamilton above the age of 18 are encouraged to confirm, update or add their information to the voters list at eregistration.elections.on.ca to receive a voter information card through mail.
Additional information about when and where to vote will be provided on the voter information cards, which will be on their way starting Feb. 28.
There are various ways to vote in this by-election, including mail, at a returning office, on election day, and at any advance polling station in the Hamilton Centre starting March 5.
