Hamilton celebrates 8th Annual Bike to Work Day

Cyclists gathered bright and early at City Hall today for the 8th annual Bike to Work Day.

The event also marked the start of Bike Month, a celebration of cycling in the Greater Hamilton and Toronto area. Bike Month runs until the end of June.

Among those that biked to work today, Ward 2 Councillor Jason Farr and Mayor Fred Eisenberger.

For those that don’t own a bike, there is SoBi, Hamilton’s bike-sharing system. SoBi spans across nearly 30 square kilometres of the lower city. The blue smart bikes are available at 115 hubs across

Hamilton. Bike to Work day is an initiative of Smart Commute Hamilton which helps local residents explore different commuting options including walking, transit, carpooling and of course, cycling.
