Hamilton carjacking thwarted

An attempted carjacking in Hamilton east end was thwarted this last night because it happened, right in front of the police.

It happened near the intersection of Barton Street East and Fredrick Avenue. Police say a man stepped in front of an SUV and demanded that the driver get out. When she refused, he approached the door and managed to pull the driver out.

Luckily for the driver, a police cruiser happened to be driving by. The officers quickly got out of their car and arrested the 23-year-old man before he could get away.
