Hamilton cafe cancels its ‘Coffee with a Cop’ program

A local coffee shop on Hamilton’s James Street North is drawing online criticism after it cancelled a ‘Coffee with a Cop’ meet-up after some groups voiced their concern over the event.

On Mulberry Cafe’s Facebook page, those in favour of the decision were quick to show their support, while those critical of the move were more vocal. The café’s site states that the decision was made due to a response from the community.

Coffee with a Cop is a North America-wide event and the now cancelled meet-up would have been the fourth this year in Hamilton. The others took already took place were at local Tim Horton’s and McDonald’s locations.
