Hamilton Buses To Drop Fare Collection

Starting Thursday, the HSR is making some changes in the wake of COVID-19.

Customers are being asked to board buses through the back doors and to keep “a fair distance” from bus operators and other passengers.

Riders with personal mobility devices will be the only ones allowed to board and exit through the front door.

As a result, HSR will not be collecting fares.

These changes will be in place until at least April 5.

Burlington buses are following similar rear boarding measures and will not be collecting fares until further notice.

Burlington Transit’s downtown terminal has been closed.

The HSR is also running its routes on a Saturday schedule during this time, with some exceptions. Those details can be found here.

The transit authority has also increased cleaning protocol, adding additional sanitizing measures in addition to regular cleaning.
