It was an exciting day for thousands of elementary students in Hamilton today.

More than 9000 students from more than 60 local catholic and public schools cheered for the Hamilton Bulldogs in their annual school day game against the Niagara Ice Dogs.

The game represents the culmination of three weeks of related learning in the Hamilton Wentworth District School Board classrooms.

The Bulldogs lost 3-2 to the Niagara Ice Dogs in overtime.
