The Hamilton Bulldogs hosted the conference leading Oshawa Generals, Friday, but couldn’t pull off a win – instead, the visiting Generals left with a 2-1 victory and a nine-point lead over Hamilton in the Eastern conference standings.

The Dogs didn’t get off to a great start in the second period giving up a power-play goal as Mitchell Vande Sompel made it 2-0 Generals.  The Bulldogs were able to put the puck in the net to cut the Oshawa lead to 2-1 before the period ended.

There was no scoring in the third period as Hamilton’s season record drops to 13-11-3-0 while on home ice they are now 5-5-3-0.

The Bulldogs are back at the rink Saturday night to host the Kingston Frontenacs. Game time is at 7 p.m.
