Hamilton airport becomes anti-human trafficking transportation ally

Hamilton’s airport is partnering with the initiative #NotInMyCity to become a transportation ally and prevent human trafficking in the region.
The #NotInMyCity movement, founded by country music superstar Paul Brandt, is dedicated to ending sexual exploitation and human trafficking in Canada.
Becoming a transportation ally sees John C. Munro International Airport implement a mandatory e-learning program for its employees.
This will educate and increase awareness about human trafficking, one of the fastest growing crimes in Canada.

The airport says more than 90 per cent of its current staff have completed the #NotInMyCity training, with a goal for 100 per cent completion in 2024.
John C. Munro International Airport Executive Managing Director Cole Horncastle says the airport is committed to ensuring the airport is safe and secure for all who travel through the facility.
“Becoming a #NotInMyCity Transportation Ally and joining their Yellow Rose campaign is our way of demonstrating our commitment to prevent human trafficking and exploitation activities in our Airport, in the City of Hamilton and the surrounding region,” Horncastle said.
