Halton Police targeting Trafalgar in road safety blitz

Halton police began a traffic safety blitz on Saturday that will continue this week in Oakville.

It’s aimed at reducing distracted and aggressive driving along a section of Trafalgar Rd. Police found that a stretch of Trafalgar between Cornwall Rd and McCraney St has seen an increase in collisions over the past year.

For the next six weeks police will be watching the Trafalgar Rd corridor, educating motorists, pedestrians and cyclists, while enforcing traffic laws, when necessary.

Since Saturday the officers have been at a variety of locations between Cornwall, all the way north to McCraney and visibility has been high.
