Halton police shoot, kill dog in Burlington after it attacks 3 people

A dog has been shot and killed by police at a home in Burlington following an attack on three people.
Halton police responded around 3 p.m. to a home on Caplan Cres., south of Fairview St. in Burlington.
A dog resembling a pitbull reportedly became aggressive towards the homeowners and attacked them. Police say a neighbour who tried to intervene was also attacked.

When officers arrived on the scene, the dog continued to show aggressive behaviour and it was shot and killed by police.
The homeowners were taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The neighbour was minorly injured.
Police say the dog was living with the homeowners at the time of the attack.
