Halton police are asking for help in identifying three people involved in a jewelry store robbery Wednesday afternoon in Oakville.

Officers responded around 12:40 p.m. to a smash-and-grab robbery at Oakville Jewelry on Lakeshore Road East.

Investigators say three people entered the store, with one person holding the door while the other two smashed display cases with hammers.

Store employees had intervened before any jewelry was taken and the suspects had fled the area in a black Nissan Altima.

One store employee was hit in the shoulder with a hammer and suffered a minor injury.

Officers found the Nissan Altima abandoned in the area of Lakeshore and Trafalgar roads in Oakville.
