Halton police seek suspect in relation to drug and assault charges

Halton police are appealing to the public to help locate a suspect facing several drug and assault-related charges.
Police say they stopped a blue 2021 Honda CRV on Plains Rd. East in Burlington on Saturday morning.
After investigating, an officer prepared to arrest the driver of the car for drug-related reasons.
Investigators have identified the suspect as 31-year-old Matthew Flannigan. They say Flannigan left the area following a “violent struggle” that injured the officer on duty.

The officer was taken to the hospital and has since been released.
Flannigan is described as a white male with brown braided-hair who is five feet and nine inches tall.
He is being charged with possession of substances for the purpose of trafficking, assault of a peace officer causing bodily harm, flight from peace officer and dangerous operation.
Officers are asking anyone with information on Flannigan’s whereabouts to call 911.
