Halton police search for missing man, 50, from Acton

UPDATE: Halton police say Joao Matais is no longer missing and he has returned home to his family.

Halton police are asking for the public’s help in finding a missing 50-year-old man from Acton.

Officers say Joao Matais, 50, was last seen on March 1, in the area of Rachlin Dr. and Churchill Rd. South in Acton.

Matais is described as white, brown hair with goatee and beard, 180 lbs., five-foot-nine, heavy build with very thick eyebrows, both ears are pierced and a tattoo on his left forearm of the Canadian and Portuguese flag.

Police say family is concerned for his well-being as he has not taken his medication.
