Halton Regional Police are reminding hikers to stay on the trail after rescuing a woman who jumped a railing.

Emergency crews were called to the Hilton Falls Conservation Area in Milton around 7 p.m. Thursday.

A 29-year-old woman from Mississauga was walking with a group of friends.

Police say she stepped over a railing to take a picture, lost her footing and fell about 10-15 feet.

She suffered minor injuries but was taken to hospital as a precaution.

Police say people should enjoy the outside safely, remaining inside fence and railings.
