Halton police locate convicted Brampton man who had removed his ankle monitor

Halton police say they have located a Brampton man convicted in a human trafficking investigation who had removed his ankle monitor and fled.
Officers say 31-year-old Ryan Gentles removed his ankle monitor and escaped from the area of Dixie Road and Bovaird Drive in Brampton on Jan. 8.
Gentles had previously been released on bail awaiting a sentencing hearing for human trafficking charges that he pled guilty to.
His previous charges include trafficking in persons, material benefit resulting from trafficking in persons, advertising sexual services and four counts of assault.
Officers were able to locate Gentles on Thursday and he now faces an additional four charges: three counts of failure to comply with a release order and one count of failure to comply with a judicial non-communication order.
Police say Gentles is being held in custody pending a bail hearing.
