Halton police investigation in Oakville, residents told to “shelter in place”

Halton police are asking residents in an Oakville neighbourhood to shelter in place for what they say is an “active investigation.”
Police say they received a call around 1:20 p.m of reports of possible gunfire in the area of Lakeshore Rd. W and Fourth Line. Police have not confirmed a firearm was discharged, but when they arrived two people were barricaded inside a home.
Police safety removed a woman from the home and crisis negotiators are in contact with the person who remains inside.
