Halton police investigate shooting in Oakville

Halton Police are still looking for two man after a man was shot at a busy plaza in Oakville in broad daylight this morning.

The 35-year old man is fighting for his life in hospital this evening after he was shot in the middle of Cornwall Road around 9:30 this morning

Minutes before he was sitting inside the Sunset Grill which was busy with people eating breakfast. One of the owners says he had ordered a glass of orange juice .

“He came in. He was supposed to be meeting someone. No one showed up, then he went to his car.”

The receptionist at a nail salon close by said she noticed two suspicious looking men.

“I see these two guys come from the forest and they walked in front of my car and they had these huge hoods up. They had their hands in their pockets when they were walking by.”

And minutes later police showed up.

Police say there were three men involved. One took off on foot and was arrested close by. He was taken to hospital with minor injuries and there’s no word yet on charges

They’re still looking for the other two who took off in a black pickup truck that police later found ditched at a nearby park.

The suspects were described as:

Suspect 1: male, black, darker skin, 6ft, 200lbs, slim build, wearing dark, long pants and a dark shirt.
Suspect 2: male, black, 5’9”-5’10”, tight cornrows in hair, possibly wearing white shorts, unknown colour/style shirt.

Police had the street closed most of the day while they investigated. They haven’t said yet whether the shooting was targeted
