Halton police investigate multiple overnight break ins

One man is in custody following a rash of break and enters in Burlington overnight.

Police were called to a plaza at 3051 Walkers Line shortly after midnight Wednesday.

They say someone gained entry into a Starbucks in the plaza by smashing the front door. A Pita Pit in the same plaza was also broken into.

Shortly after 12:30 a.m., a citizen called police to report a silver SUV had crashed through the front doors of a nail salon at 414 Plains Rd. East.

Police say a cash tray was taken from the salon.

Investigators believe all three incidents are related.

One man has been taken into custody and police believe more people were likely involved in the break ins.

No charges have been laid at this time.
