Halton police charge Oakville man with sexual assault during Uber drive

Halton regional police have charged a man from Oakville with sexual assault following an incident last month.

Officers say on March 23, at around 2:30 a.m. a man was driving a Black Toyota Camry as an Uber driver and picked up a woman in the area of Pearl and James Streets in Burlington.

They say when they reached the requested destination, the driver sexually assaulted the woman inside the car.

The woman did not sustain any physical injuries.

Following an investigation, officers identified and arrested 24-year-old Hassan Ali Khan from Oakville.

He has been charged with one count of sexual assault and has been held in custody pending a bail hearing in Milton.

Investigators say they believe there may be additional victims and are asking anyone with information to contact police.
