Halton police charge 2 men in ‘OOM Energy’ fraud investigation

Two people have been charged in connection with a three-year fraud investigation linked to OOM Energy, also known as MCS Energy.
Halton Regional Police say over $3 million was loaned to OOM Energy by private investors who believed their investments were guaranteed by an insurance program because they’d received forged documents.
On June 16, investigators arrested the 65-year-old owner of OOM Energy – Craig Hugh Clydesdale of Oakville – and 61-year-old insurance broker Thomas Craig McBeath of Markham.

Both men have been charged with multiple counts of fraud over $5,000 and forgery-related offences.
Police believe there are more alleged victims and witnesses, and are looking to speak with them.
