Halton police box in alleged drunk driver in Milton

Halton police have arrested a 36-year-old man after a suspected drunk driver hopped a curb and drove on a sidewalk in Milton.

It happened just before midnight Sunday in the area of Leiterman Dr. and Asleton Blvd.

Investigators say a citizen called police and reported a drunk driver was riding up on sidewalks in the area.

Officers arrived on scene but the driver attempted to flee from police. Two Halton police cruisers managed to box in the vehicle and the driver was arrested.

An image posted by Halton police on Twitter appears to show damage to the front passenger’s side window. Halton police could not comment on what caused the damage.

No one was injured during the incident.

Antony Saldutto, of Mississauga, is charged with impaired driving, dangerous operation, flight from peace officer and operation while prohibited.
