Halton police arrest man in connection to break-ins in Georgetown

Halton police say they’ve arrested a man in connection to two separate break-ins that occurred in Georgetown.

On March 25, officers were called out to two homes near Main Street North and Kennedy Street after they had been broken into over the weekend while the owners were away.

Police say the suspect forced entry to both residences and took valuable items , including debit and credit cards.

On Wednesday, authorities found and arrested 38-year-old Christopher Dayfoot and charged him with several counts of break and enter, fraudulent use of a credit card, possession of property obtained by crime and breach of a release order.

Dayfoot is being held in custody and awaiting a bail hearing.
