Halton police have laid multiple charges and arrested two people in a series of Taylor Swift ticket scams late last year.

The police’s Financial Crimes Unit launched an investigation and continued to receive additional complaints from victims inside and outside of the Halton Region during and following the Toronto ‘Eras’ concert series.

As the investigation unfolded the unit received 75 complaints and confirmed 55 incidents of fraud connected to the third-party vendor, totalling approximately $140,000 in losses.

Yesterday Halton Police executed a Criminal Code search warrant at a Burlington residence and located and seized a number of laptops and cell phones.

As a result of the investigation, police arrested and charged Denise Tisor, 44, and David Blake, 56, both of Burlington with possession of property obtained by crime and money laundering. Tisor was also charged with defrauding the public.

Tisor and Blake have both been released with a future court date in Milton.

Anyone with information regarding the investigation is asked to contact the Financial Crimes Unit at 905-825-4777 ext. 8739 or Crime Stoppers of Hamilton.
