Halton MP Lisa Raitt to undergo surgery

Halton MP Lisa Raitt says she’ll undergo surgery this week to remove a tumour on her ovaries.

The federal transport minister will be taking a six to eight week leave from work while she recovers.

Raitt says she won’t know if the tumour is cancerous until after the surgery on Tuesday, but says she’s optimistic that it is benign.
