Halton cops: child porn problem grows 10x annually

There’s new evidence tonight of the scope of the dark side of the computer age we’re living in.

The internet boom has also meant a boom in child pornography.
But police in Halton gave an indication Wednesday of how they’re keeping up with the porn explosion.

The four people charged with possession of, and making available, child pornography are:

• -Robert Knight Bowley, 31, of Bluefields Crescent, Burlington
• -Cody Crocker, 20, of Watson Avenue, Oakville (also charged with breach of recognizance)
• -Gerald Legere, 62, of McFarland Court, Campbellville
• -Andrew Rutledge, 18, of Parkgate Crescent, Burlington

Investigators say the four have no connection with each other.
Police say prevention is a big part of their strategy, such as having parents talk to their kids about sexting and sending racy pics to their friends.
Those are the sorts of things that could suddenly be shared around the world by predators.
