Carl Hall, the man on trial for the murder of Jackie McLean 11-years ago, has been acquitted.

McLean, 36, was beaten to death in a vacant apartment above the Sandbar Tavern in August, 2001.

Ontario Superior Court Justice J.R. Henderson said he had reasonable doubt as to whether Hall had time to commit the murder, as there was video evidence placing him at a different location around the time McLean’s body was discovered.

Hall was previously convicted of the crime in 2006, but an Ontario Court of Appeal demanded a new trial in 2011.
