Haldimand County warns of erosion and minor flooding along shoreline

Haldimand County says high winds and strong waves could cause erosion and flooding along the shoreline.
Wednesday’s forecast is calling for sustained winds of 40 to 50 km/hr., with gusts approaching 70 km/hr.
A watershed/shoreline conditions statement is in effect for much of the Lake Erie shoreline.
Officials say peak water levels will occur late Wednesday afternoon, with the potential for another peak late in the evening.
Residents are being asked to use caution near shoreline areas and to keep children and pets away from these areas.
The county says crews will be monitoring conditions along the lake and are prepared to respond if needed.
