Hagersville solidarity demonstration march

Traffic delays are expected today near Highway 6 in Hagersville as a new blockade is set up on the corner of 1st Line.

Demonstrators marched from Main St. at King St. on Highway 6 toward 1st line where they set up at that intersection.

This is the second blockade along Highway 6. On Monday that highway became closed when Wet’suwet’en supporters erected a barricade between Argyle St. South and Greens Rd. in Caledonia.

Organizers of the Caledonia blockade say it will remain there until the RCMP withdraws from Wet’suwet’en territory.

Meanwhile, the Wet’suwet’en heredity chiefs reached at tentative deal today to end the pipeline dispute that caused rail and highway disruptions throughout the country.
