Gymnastics coach charged with sexually assaulting 15-year-old girl

A 28-year-old man who worked as a gymnastics coach in Oakville has been charged with the sexual assault of a 15-year-old girl in Peel Region.
Scott McFarlane turned himself in to Peel police on Monday after a Canada Wide Warrant was issued for his arrest.
He is charged with sexual assault, child luring, indecent exposure to persons under 16 years of age, make sexual explicit material available to a person under 16 years of age, and sexual interference.
Investigators say they were contacted earlier this month by a teenage girl who reported multiple allegations of sex related crimes that happened over a four-year period.
Police say the accused was the girl’s gymnastics coach at the time of the alleged incidents.
McFarlane also worked as a coach in Oakville, Ottawa and in Western Canada. He has been suspended by Gymnastics Ontario.
Investigators from the Special Victims Unit believe there may be more victims and are asking anyone who had contact with McFarlane to call the Peel Regional Police Special Victims Unit.
