Hamilton police are hunting down the gunman that opened fire in an east-end home Monday night.

Investigators say a man was standing outside a house near Garside and Central Avenue.

After answering a knock at the door, the home-owner ran back inside, when a shot went through the door and hit a wall.  Five people were inside the house, but nobody was hurt.  Sergeant Glenn Bullock says this was not a random shooting.

“There was some sense because the suspect asked to speak to the person that they were known to each other through some relationship of some sort. but we don’t know what that relationship looked like.”

Police are looking for man in his 20’s.  he’s about 5-8,  with a thin build and shoulder-length black hair.  he was wearing a black hoodie with white designs on the sleeves.
