Guelph police arrest Oakville man on multiple sex offences

Guelph police arrested a 29-year-old man from Oakville early Friday morning for allegedly luring and sexually assaulting a 12-year-old girl.

Officers responded to a report of a missing girl just before 4:30 a.m. on July 8 from her father in Guelph.

Police was able to track her phone to a motel where they found the missing girl with a man.

The man is from Oakville but the police have not released his name.

Detectives discovered the man had met with the girl in person four previous times, and had been chatting with her online since early June.

She told officers that she and the man had met repeatedly for sex.

The Oakville man has been charged with multiple offences involved with sexual assault, and luring a person under 14 years old.
