Guelph C. Diff death

Guelph general hospital is reporting its third C. Difficile death in less than two weeks.

The hospital says an elderly patient with the bacteria died late last week.

It’s the hospital’s fifth C. Difficile death since May.

Another new hospital acquired case was also confirmed on Monday.

Guelph General Hospital is currently treating five patients with C. Diff.

Spokesperson Suzanne Bone says the hospital continues to use extra rigorous cleaning measures in all rooms after patients are discharged.
