GTHA gas prices to drop this Labour Day long weekend

Anyone with plans to get away for the Labour Day long weekend can enjoy cheap prices at the pumps.
The last time Canadians saw average gasoline prices in the 1.60 range was during the last week of February, just before Russia invaded Ukraine.
Prices at the pumps rose steadily following that, hitting a peak of 215.1 cents per litre at the beginning of June.
Natural Resources Canada reported Thursday the national average retail price for regular gasoline was 161.1 cents per litre.
According to Dan McTeague, president of Canadians for Affordable Energy, the price of regular gas is expected to drop to 147.9 on Saturday in the Hamilton, Halton and Niagara regions.
The cheapest gas can be found in Alberta, where the average currently sits at 140.8 cents per litre.
