Grocery gift cards run out quick

Grocery gift-cards offered to people who lost food during the power outage have run out in Toronto.
Premier Kathleen Wynne announced Monday that in addition to Loblaw’s original pledge, Shoppers Drug Mart, Sobeys and Metro were also giving 25 thousand dollars.
Toronto residents were lined up Tuesday morning for the cards at different Ontario Works Offices, but not everyone left happy. The city says it’s taking down names, and assigning people a time to come back.
“I think what they should have done was, whoever was on ODSP or welfare, put the money in the account automatically.”
“It’s a little frustrating, but I believe in faith. I’m still getting one.”
The Premier’s office says giftcards are being replenished, and says the Daily Bread Food Bank is helping to coordinate distribution. Longo’s also came forward Tuesday morning with a ten-thousand dollar donation.
