Grimsby schools moving students?

Students at two elementary schools in Grimsby are bracing for a move.
Parents were informed at a meeting last night that students may be shuffled around based on their language program. Right now, both French immersion and core English are offered at Lakeview and Central public schools.
The board now says all English students may be moved to Lakeview because demand for French immersion has gone up and they’re now dedicating Central to that program.
Parents are upset because they say they weren’t consulted about the decision.
“I think it’s the stupidest thing they’ve ever done. It’s another class of segregation. Now you’re going to have the French against the English”
“My grandson is already saying he won’t get on the bus. he doesn’t want to ride both school buses.”
The board says the decision isn’t final. For some students, this will be their second school move in as many years because they were already shuffled once when the French immersion program started.
