Grimsby driver charged after motorcycle collision in Haldimand County

A motorcyclist was taken to hospital and one person has been charged following a collision in Haldimand County on Sunday afternoon.

OPP say they received a report about a collision in the area of Haldimand Rd. 9 and Highway 56 around 2:15 p.m. on Sunday.

Officers say the crash involving a motorcycle and a passenger vehicle resulted in the motorcyclist being airlifted to a Toronto hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the passenger vehicle was not injured.

The intersection remained closed for around three hours for investigation but has since re-opened.

That investigation has resulted in a 51-year-old driver from Grimsby facing charges of careless driving.
