One of the region’s big summer festivals, The Greenbelt Harvest Picnic, was a great day out at Christie Lake in Dundas. The line-up on Saturday had eleven straight hours of music which included: The Arkells, Gordon Lighfoot, and The Bahamas. In addition to the stellar music line-up, the festival itself is celebrating a very special anniversary. 2015 marks the anniversary of The Friends of the Greenbelt Foundation, which promotes healthy and active living in Ontario’s Greenbelt.
The festival grounds featured two stages, over 50 different vendors, food trucks and locally grown produce. It’s been ten years since the Greenbelt Act was passed, which was a bill that helped protect over two million acres of land.
